Moonphase complication forklaret
Moonphase-indikatoren viser månens aktuelle fase, som den ses fra Jorden, ved hjælp af en roterende skive med måne og stjerner, som ses gennem et cutout på skiven. Den bevæger sig en smule hver dag for at følge månens 29,5-dages cyklus. I dag er det primært en dekoration, men den hylder urmager-traditioner, fra en tid hvor månefaser blev brugt til at navigere og som kalender.
