"No. Scandinavian design did not start in the '50s"
In a vintage-obsessed watch world, we decided to go REALLY vintage. Prepare for a twist on tradition: we’ve created the ultimate statement piece with the incredibly talented watch artist seconde/ seconde/.

seconde/ seconde/
Redefining Watchmaking, One "Vandalism with a Smile" at a Time.
The artist behind seconde/seconde/ has carved out a unique place in watchmaking, bringing a sense of rebellion and humor that challenges tradition. Starting his journey in a different field altogether, he eventually found his way back to watches, drawn by a desire to disrupt the status quo of horology. Early on, he began experimenting with vintage pieces, swapping out traditional watch hands for symbols that evoke pop culture and subtle wit, creating designs that blend nostalgia with the unexpected.
For him, each watch is a canvas—a chance to add “vandalism with a smile.” His creations are playful and self-aware, capturing the essence of art without losing respect for the craft. From a modest beginning to collaborations with major names, seconde/seconde/ has stayed true to his vision: bringing a fresh, often mischievous perspective to a world steeped in convention, all while staying grounded in a deep appreciation for heritage and design.

Think Scandinavian heritage, just a bit older.

ABOUT Vintage 10th CENTURY
"No. 'Scandinavian design' did not start in the 1950's"
"When AV contacted me I had a lot of preconceptions. I was basically wondering “why those people culturally infused by the Scandinavian Design’s sobriety are contacting a guy like me, who has shown so far in my collabs everything but a stylistic temperance”.
"But as usual, my preconceptions shattered quickly when I understood they were ready to adventure in new territories, just like me. The project was unclear at the beginning but we knew it would not be neither safe minimalism neither provocative maximalism… We knew it would be rooted in Scandinavian heritage while twisted by a distant French perspective."
