How long is the battery life of my watch?
The batteries fitted in our timepieces are expected to last around 2-4 years depending on movement type. Batteries can easily be changed at most jewelry & watch stores at a low cost.

Automatic movement maintenance
Our timepieces are made to last a lifetime, we therefore only use high quality and well tested automatic movements. These movement types are recommended to be serviced at your local watch specialist minimum every 5 year for optimal performance and longevity.

It has always been clear to us that Frederique Constant and About Vintage’s visions are aligned; creating spectacular and elegant timepieces for the everyday gent and woman.

Having already collaborated with the Swiss watch brand in the past on the beautiful 1988 Moonphase, we felt right at home with making another special collaboration.

The 1988 Flyback is an ode to the classics as it is a redesign of the iconic Flyback Chronograph from Frederique Constant.

While doing this redesign we were constantly reminded of why we began our journey of watch making. And the design is a combination of trademark Frederique Constant elements, as well as the key elements of our own design. Timelessness and Scandinavian minimalism.

The watch contains the in-house clockwork from Frederique Constant; FC-702 Manufacture Caliber and is perfect for any watch connoisseur.

About the design

The Blue Edition

The 1988 Flyback Chronograph Blue Edition is an ode to the classics as it is a redesign of the iconic Flyback Chronograph from Frederique Constant.

During the process of redesign, we were constantly reminded of why we began our journey of watch making - to capture special moments at the hand of quality timepieces. As the design itself is a combination of trademark Frederique Constant elements, as well as the key elements of our own design, it boasts timelessness and Scandinavian minimalism.

While sharing central characteristics with our previous 1988 Flyback Chronograph, this timepiece differentiates itself with a mesmerizing deep blue matte dial and three sunray sub-dials - serving as a renewal of an exclusive and a sought after design.

TIMELESS DESIGN

BUILT TO LAST

STEEL & GOLD

We use 316L surgical-grade stainless steel from Finland, which is commonly used for fine watches and jewelry worldwide. Additionally, our models with gold plating are, of course, made with genuine ISO-certified gold plating, ensuring that the precious metals can withstand the test of time.

SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL

We only use highly scratch-resistant sapphire crystal on all our models, combined with an anti-reflective coating for better visibility. Our products are made with Japanese precision. It may be expensive, but it is the key to lifelong quality.

MOVEMENTS (CALIBER)

We carefully select Swiss and Japanese-made quality movements, as they are simply the best in the world. We choose specific calibers from Miyota, Sellita, and TMI that have been real-world tested and proven to be 'workhorses' for optimal durability.

A-GRADE FACTORIES

We use A-grade factories and suppliers for all components, making a difference in all the small but important details. Everything, from the feel of the round steel edges to the quality feel and weight of the bracelets, dial details, quality control, and certified work environment ethic.
