SECURING KIDS A BRIGHTER HORIZON

When buying a 1964 Horizon, not only do you get a watch for all occasions, you also support some of the world’s poorest kids, giving them a brighter horizon. For each watch we sell, we make a donation that secures school bags for two kids, giving them an opportunity to learn how to read and write. All donations are given directly to Unicef, the international organization who work to secure a better future for kids all over the world.

1964 Horizon

In 1964 Seiko became the official timekeeper of the Summer Olympics. This marked an important development in how Japanese watchmaking was perceived. From this point, Japanese watch making was internationally acclaimed, and has since then become one of the world's leading nations in watches.

The 1964 Horizon bears references to the history of Japanese design, with simplicity and functionality as its main factors. Being a true versatile watch for both sport and cocktails, the 1964 Horizon is made as a do-it-all watch for any occasion.

1964 HORIZON

The 1964 Horizon bears references to the history of Japanese design, with simplicity and functionality as its main factors. Being a true versatile watch for both sport and cocktails, the 1964 Horizon is made as a do-it-all watch for any occasion.

THE DESIGN

In the design process of the 1964 Horizon we wanted to make a watch that is both rugged yet refined. Something that caters to sportswear and cocktail attire alike. With inspiration from Scandi-Japanese design culture of simplicity and functionality, this very simple 3-hand watch, with large SuperLuminova filled hour markers and hands, encapsulated in a bulky case but stripped from unnecessary details, is what we believe is the best of both worlds: A sporty, yet dressy watch.

FUNCTIONALITY

The 1964 Horizon is fitted with a Japanese made TMI VH31 movement. It features a sweeping second hand function, meaning the second hand ticks four times per second, making its movement smooth like in an automatic watch.
The oversize hour markers and hands are filled with Swiss Made SuperLuminova for optimal reading in low light conditions.

The knurled screw-down crown secures easy handling plus gives the watch a depth rating of 10 ATM, meaning the watch is water resistant to 100m. The scratch resistant sapphire crystal and 316 L surgical steel makes this watch as durable as ever possible, a nice companion for your every endeavor.
