Each and every one of our watches are named after an important point in the history of horology. In 1954, the world saw its first GMT watch, originally created for pilots flying across time zones in a matter of hours and naturally, our 1954 GMT World Traveler carries its name hereafter. The 1954 World Traveler is meant to be worn. It features a 60 click bi-directional bezel crafted from polished anodized aluminum, a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, Super LumiNova markings on the dial and a robust Ronda movement inside.

MADE TO ORDER
Made to order means only producing the products that are ordered in the given period. Production will start as soon as you have placed your order. Contrary to the traditional process, you are sure to get a special piece, as your watch will be produced upon request and not in a mass production line.
This way, we ensure that there is no excess supply. Only watches ordered between 14 February and 5 March will be produced.
THE HISTORY OF THE GMT
The history of the GMT complication dates back to the 1940s and 50s. The GMT watch was first intended for pilots flying across time zones in a matter of hours, as it kept track of both the local time and the time in the place from where they departed. It was first and foremost a utility, a tool which the pilots could rely on to remember loved ones at home in the midst of traveling the world. As the world became much more interconnected, and flights became longer, the GMT watch experienced a growing demand. Today GMT watches are still cherished due to their functionality and design features, making it one of the most popular watch models available. At About Vintage we offer several two-toned and one-toned GMT watches.
Make it yours with a personal engraving on the caseback and a free extra strap of your likings. Choose between our super soft silicone straps, our classic italian leather straps or our high quality nato straps, made from recycled plastic.

The watch looks absolutely amazing. And the quality is incredible. This is my second watch with about vintage, and I’ve already fall in love with the brand since my first watch with them. This brand made me want to go to Copenhagen and visit the store.
